Musicians-in-Residence, Nefesh Mountain

The Hottest New Jewish Musical Group Comes to Wise Temple

Old time, bluegrass mountain music + Jewish traditions and heritage = a game-changing blend of spiritual and uniquely American sound!

Husband and wife team Eric Lindberg & Doni Zasloff have pioneered a unique style melded from ancient, time-honored musical traditions. Tablet Magazine calls it “The Sound of Appalachia and the Soul of Judaism.” Nefesh Mountain’s newly released album, “Beneath the Open Sky” received national recognition and rave reviews from renowned music publications like Billboard.

"Like a blanket passed down as a family heirloom, the results are warm and comfortable, and their 21st century approach never overshadows those old-world traditions." ~ Rolling Stone Magazine

A deeply Jewish spiritual flavor which combines lively bluegrass melodies and tempos played on banjos, dobros, and other stringed instruments. A rustic, traditional American music that is honest and genuine, with original compositions that evoke an earnest and heartfelt appeal to love and acceptance, no matter your background.

With several opportunities to savor Nefesh Mountain, plus a special YoFI concert featuring the family-friendly and uniquely special Mama Doni Experience*, there’s sure to be an event that’s right up your alley, and a chance to make a memory you’ll never forget.
