With more maturity comes greater understanding of our faith. Confirmation is the period of Jewish study beyond Bar/Bat Mitzvah when teens can grapple with the tough questions, build their Jewish community, and more fully embrace their faith.
A beautiful and inspiring ceremony is usually held during Shavuot, the festival celebrating the giving of the Torah on Mount Sinai. At this ceremony, when Confirmands affirm their faith in Judaism, they symbolically re-enact the acceptance of the Torah by our people.
The Confirmation Class meets on Sunday evenings as part of Kulanu (Cincinnati Reform Jewish High School).
“The Confirmation service is led entirely by the 10th graders. I am always spiritually moved by their commitment to Judaism, musical talent, artistic creativity, and passionate ideas.”
