Back Parking Lot
On Rosh Hashana, it is considered a mitzvah to be present in order to see and hear the sounding of the shofar. While we will all be able to do this from our homes virtually, on Rosh Hashana morning during the streaming service, we invite you to participate in Shofar in the Car.
Here’s how it works: Drive to Wise Center on Rosh Hashana afternoon, Saturday September 19 between 1:00 and 3:00 pm. Roll down your window to greet the rabbis and to enjoy a personal sounding of the shofar brought to you right outside your car, so that you can experience in person the Shofar’s call to us for a new year.
While you are coming to Wise Center, be sure to bring your High Holy Day Mitzvah Bag (see below) and drop it off with your generous contribution for those who are hungry in our city, continuing our congregation’s 35 year tradition!
Mitzvah Bag Project
For over 30 years, Wise Temple congregants have taken part in the High Holy Day Mitzvah Bag Project, donating more than 694,000 pounds of non-perishable food and personal care items to our less fortunate neighbors in the tri-state area via Freestore Foodbank.
CARRY THE MITZVAH: This year, barrels will be available both inside the lobby and outside for you to deposit your donations, beginning Monday, September 14 through Friday, September 25 (except for Friday, September 18 – Rosh Hashanah Eve).
