Jewish Parenting Program

Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive in Their Digital World
With acclaimed guest speaker Dr. Devorah Heitner

Sunday, February 24, 2019
9:15 AM - 10:45 AM

Parents today worry that kids are addicted, detached or distracted because of digital devices. Often, adults are less conscious about what they are modeling with their own relationship with technology. During this special program designed for Jewish parents, we will learn from Dr. Devorah Heitner, an expert on young people’s relationship with digital media and technology, as she joins us remotely from Chicago.

Dr. Heitner is the author of Screenwise: Helping Kids Thrive (and Survive) in Their Digital World and founder of Raising Digital Natives. Her mission is to cultivate a culture of empathy and social/emotional literacy. Dr. Heitner’s work has appeared in the New York Times, the Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, TIME magazine and Education Week. She has a Ph.D. in Media/Technology & Society from Northwestern University and has taught at DePaul and Northwestern.

Our program will include a delicious gourmet breakfast and coffee from The Sleepy Bee Café.
