“Justice, Justice, Shall you Pursue”

Voice your concerns about local and state issues, and help identify resources that might support the work of Wise Temple’s new civic engagement initiative.

Wise Temple is joining with other Reform Jewish congregations state-wide to engage in conversations about issues and challenges in Cincinnati and in Ohio. Civic Engagement@Wise is a steering committee focused on identifying a specific civic problem in our region that congregants believe Wise Temple could effectively address  in partnership with other organizations. Unlike Wise Temple’s social action efforts, Civic Engagement@Wise will focus on ways to effect system change in our community and in Ohio.
Civic Engagement@Wise is conducting “Listening Sessions” with interested congregants. The purpose is to give you the opportunity to voice your concerns about local and state issues, and to identify resources that might support Wise Temple’s work.  To share your concerns and recommendations, please plan to attend:

Civic Engagement Listening Session
Sunday, May 5
9:45 AM - 11:15 AM

Note: The committee’s work has emerged from Wise Temple’s partnership with the Religious Action Center (RAC), headquartered in DC.  Rooted in Jewish values, the RAC develops and supports congregants in their efforts to promote social justice at local, state, and federal levels.  Rabbi Lindsey Danziger leads RAC’s efforts in Ohio.  Last year Wise Temple partnered with RAC Ohio on the Get Out the Vote effort, and on efforts to pass Issue 1, which focused on criminal justice reform.
