7:00 PM - 8:30 PM

Melissa Hunter, an author and blogger from Cincinnati, will discuss her new novel What She Lost. Inspired by her grandmother’s life as a Holocaust survivor, Hunter tells the story of a young Polish woman whose family was swept into the chaos and murder of the Holocaust. Part memoir, part historical fiction, it is more than a description of the atrocities of that era. What She Lost is a tale of resilience, of rebuilding a life, and of rediscovering love. What She Lost is an inspiring book that will move younger and older readers alike. It does what the best historical fiction can do: it brings real life, emotion, and insight into a time and place that changed the course of humanity and that has much to teach us all about the strength of the human spirit.
