7th Grade B'Nai Mitzvah Class
2010 - 2011 Schedule
Using the diverse resources at Wise Temple and in the wider Cincinnati community, we will take part in activities such as field trips, mitzvah projects, discussions with special guest speakers, and more. Students will also have the opportunity to study Jewish texts, work together, buildcommunity, and make new friends.
The following is a list of the session schedule, offering a glimpse into some of the exciting activities we will be doing in the coming year:
Sunday, October 3, 2010 11:45 AM - 3:00 PM Opening Program
In our first session we will focus on the journey ahead of us in a Maccabiah-style afternoon of competition! This will be an opportunity to play games, eat good food, and catch up with old friends while making new ones.

TBA Tikkun Olam-athon
We require 7th graders to participate in our congregation-wide day of social action with their families. Students will have an individual assignment to complete connected with this day regarding the project they choose to do with their families.
Sunday, December 5, 2010 11:45 AM - 3:00 PM My Neighbors
We will examine our relationships with the mosaic of people in our community and in our world with special guest speakers and a social action project.
Sunday, January 9, 2011 9:15 AM - 11:45 AM, with parents during religious school My Family
How much of who we are today grows out of our family roots? We will explore our relationships within our families and what we can do to create sh’lom bayit, peace in our homes. Parents are invited and STRONGLY encouraged to participate in this fun and eye-opening session!
Monday, January 17, 2011 9:15 AM - 2:00 PM My Freedom
We will participate in the annual MLK Day March to Fountain Square and then, as a group, tour the Freedom Center to view the museum through a Jewish lens. Pick-up at the Freedom Center
Wednesday, February 23, 2011 4:30 PM - 7:30 PM My God
During this session we will open our minds to our beliefs in God, exploring the enormity of the universe and the complexities of creation and the world around us.

We will delve into the chain of our tradition from ancient times until today and will explore ways to interpret our sacred traditions in fresh and modern ways.

We will approach the environment from a Jewish perspective and experience, first hand, the beauty and spirit of nature around us through interactive and fun activities.
