Featuring Andrea Rapp with honored memories from Wise Temple
Thursday, September 23, 2010
9:30 AM—12:30 PM, Wise Center
Just as it is said that Elijah the Prophet visits us during our Passover Seder, our tradition also teaches us that other ancestral figures, called “ushpizin” visit us at Sukkot.
We will hear from our librarian, Andrea Rapp, who will relate the tales of two of our own Wise Temple “ushpizin” – the honored and exalted guests from our Temple’s historic past. The cost will be $7.50 for Temple members and $10 for guests.
Join us for our Sukkot morning service, in which Senior Adult members will participate (contact Rabbi Baden at 793-2556 if you would like a part), and then stay for lunch.

The Senior Adult Committee is a very special part of Isaac M. Wise Temple. This group was formed in the 1990's when several members of the professional and lay-leadership realized that there was very little programming specifically available to our senior adult population.
Though older adults share many interests with their younger counterparts, such as adult education, social action events, and worship initiatives, the Temple realized that they also have unique needs and interests that could and should be addressed by the congregation.
Therefore, Wise Temple embarked on a mission of creating educational, entertaining, and thought provoking programs for senior members of our Congregation. Since that time, the Senior Adult Committee has blossomed into the vibrant, active group that it is today.
Seniors Chair: Suzanne Voos.
