A Yiddish proverb states, "life is with people." Our Jewish life can develop most fully in the context of community. Here at Wise Temple, our school becomes a community when we gather together children, parents, teachers and rabbis to learn with one another and to care for one another and the world around us.
All of our staff is committed to teach our students about Judaism and Jewish living in the most creative and meaningful ways possible. We are also dedicated to helping our students feel that what they learn here really can make a difference in their lives and can help them to grow into the best people they can be. We want them to understand that Judaism can offer important guidance for our lives, and that learning about our Jewish texts, holidays, lifecycles, history, values and language can be both fun and meaningful. Very simply, we want our students to enjoy religious school and to feel good about being Jewish. We strive to create a community guided by Jewish values that nurtures all of us intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. Along the way we will teach our students the tools and information they need to live a Jewish life, while working to give them experiences that spark enthusiasm and excitement for Judaism.
Our vision of a community of learners extends beyond religious school to include youth programs, family programs, adult education and more. Our goal is for all of these "programs" to provide an interwoven Jewish experience that reaches the whole family.
To succeed in all of our goals we need your help! We encourage all of our parents to be active and supportive of your child's Jewish education at home and here at temple. The more involved you become, the more meaningful you and your children's experiences can be. We truly look forward to being your partners in our sacred endeavor, helping to raise children who are proud of their Jewish identity, who embrace Judaism with joy and curiosity, who experience the strength of living in community and who understand their responsibility to live an ethical life.
